Learning to make the most of whatever season you’re in.

You can’t control the weather. Some days will be over 100 degrees and sunny, some days will be gloomy, some days the weather will have a crisp and perfect autumn air. Some days it will rain, some days it will snow, and some days there may be thunderstorms. You can try to predict the weather, but at the end of the day, you can’t control it.

You can’t control life. You can’t control what season you find yourself in. You can’t control the problems that you encounter, nor can you control the circumstances that come your way. We dread the unknown and the future provokes great anxiety for a lot of people.

We look forward to what we can control and we obsess over every little detail that we can see. We pour so much effort and energy into getting rid of the rain that surrounds us yet we fail to recognize its beauty. Perhaps life is not about weathering the storms, but about learning to dance in the rain. Perhaps life is about learning to find joy in the storms and embracing our circumstances.

Would we be happier? Instead of trying to change something or force something to happen, what would our lives look like if we embraced our current situation and looked at it in a positive light? I think I would definitely be happier. I hope to learn to dance, rain or shine.
