The sun will always rise.
The older I get, the more I realize how valuable time is. How we choose to spend our time is very important because it reveals what we prioritize. Some people value money, so they spend their time investing into stocks and learning how to manage their finances better. Some people value relationships, so they spend their time reaching out to friends and enjoying one another’s company. Some people like to be alone, so they spend time by themselves drawing, reading, writing, playing an instrument, or watching movies.
How do you spend your time?
You can choose to spend it whatever way you want, but perhaps we would all spend it differently if we knew how valuable our time actually is. If we can’t get around to something, we assume that we will have the time to get to it the next day, or the following. But how are we so sure that the sun will rise? After all, tomorrow is never promised.
If the sun didn’t rise tomorrow, I wonder how would people remember me? What kind of life have I lived so far? What kind of person do I want to become? Questions like these motivate me to be a better person and to live a better life. I hope that my loved ones would remember me fondly, and I hope people would remember me as someone who pursued growth and welcomed accountability.
