Tried and true

Christina & anthony

Looks like we made it.

There is a naive sweetness when it comes to young love. It’s new, exciting, and gives us butterflies. Something in us is enthralled by the unpredictability of it all. In this stage we tend to get swept up in our emotions and the rush of adrenaline covers our eyes with rose-colored glasses and fills our cups so they are half-full. The sunny days of young love seem so bright that not even a cloud could cover its rays.

But storms come. And when they do, we learn that not all loves were meant to be nor were they love to begin with. Feelings fade and emotions rise. People leave, people stay, and some love is able to stand the test of time. Some love grows even in the storm. Even when the waters threaten to wilt the loyalties of our hearts, the roots of our commitment ground us.

It is a beautiful thing to witness such a love. For all the invisible moments, the arguments, and difficult attempts at forgiveness and reconciliation, we celebrate Christina and Anthony. We pray their love and commitment for each other continues to grow like the branches of a sturdy oak tree bearing its leaves to the sunlight.

With love,

Grace
